Node Library menu comes unattached when pushing Render button

Steps causing the bug to occur

  1. While the Node Library is open and attached to the Vuo editor window, Push the render button.
  2. If the mouse pointer happens to drift down a little so that it is hovering over (near?) the attached Node Library menu bar while the CompositionViewer window is opening, it will pull the Node Library off the editor window (and if the mouse button is held, I think the node library will stay attached to the mouse pointer and in focus in front of viewer window).

This is a UI issue with the Vuo editor. It’s annoying and it happens a lot. This tends to happen primarily with my MBP trackpad, which is mostly how I’ve been using Vuo.

Have you found a workaround?

If I patiently keep the mouse button hovering over the render button until the comp viewer opens and starts running, then it seems to behave.

Other notes

  • Vuo version: 1.2.1
  • macOS version: OS X 10.11
  • How severely does this bug affect you? Not much; I’m just letting you know about it.

Although we haven’t been able to reproduce the problem with those specific steps, we are able to reproduce some related problems where drags on the Vuo Editor are initiated even though the mouse button hasn’t been pressed. We’ll continue looking into these weird drags.

In the meantime, another workaround is to click on a blank part of the toolbar.

This issue seems fairly consistent. I’ve also been wondering if having a bunch of windows open compounds the issue.

I experience such behavior a lot in osx 10.10. Noticed two things:

  1. Node library bacomes unattached after pressing Run button
  2. Sometimes pointer in one composition causes dragging/selecting rectangle is other composition window

For me it’s very annoying, I suggest changing “Not much affecting” to “Very annoying” :)

Vuo 1.2.4 fixed the un-called-for drags that I mentioned in my earlier comment, so this problem may be fixed as well. @jersmi and @dumski, if you’re still seeing the problem, please let me know.
