Make Integer node?

I’d like to make a simple configuration for my compositions - using a few nodes with Integer / Real values. There are nodes like “Make 2D Point” and others for more complex values, but why there is no “Make Integer”?

I can create a “Wave” node oscillating from N to N, but that’s an obvious hack. How to do this properly?

Yeah I don’t remember of a simple “Make Value” node ;) Which could be there IMHO.

What you can simply do is add a share value node (from the node library or by right clicking the canvas), right click on the port, click “set data type” and choose Integer or Real.

Share value and Make value would actually be the same node so perhaps the team left it out to enlighten the library ?

I didn’t know you can right-click and select value type. “Share Value” node solves my case.

Thanks @Bodysoulspirit!

@marcin, I’m glad you have a solution :)

We’ll add “make” as a keyword of Share Value so it comes up in searches.

@Bodysoulspirit, yeah, rather than including the same node twice under different names, which could be confusing, we like to use search keywords so the node comes up if you search for either possible name.

Btw, related feature request: Ability to detach constant value flags and connect them to multiple nodes

I’m going to make a FR for right click on Input Port to have a contextual menu item for “Attach Shared Value Node” (think Insert Input Splitter in QC and Insert Splitters to all Inputs in KinemeCore). I can’t seem to find an existing one but I recall this has been discussed elsewhere. I go to use this all the time when I want to move an existing value, say a colour from one existing node input to a new node’s input., but it’s not there (yet) in Vuo.
