Steps causing the bug to occur: 

  1. create composition using Make Gradient Noise node.
  2. set coordinates in Scaled Start and Scaled End
  3. Running comp in VuoCompLoader works as expected
  4. Running comp in VDMX the coordinates change unexpectedly

How did the result differ from what you expected?: 

I would expect the coordinates to update accordingly in the host app.

Have you found a workaround?: 

Attempting to lockdown the offset that's occurring.

Looks like the differences in VDMX (Vuo 1.1) vs. Vuo 1.2 all come down to differences in the Vuo version, and should be fixed when a version of VDMX containing Vuo 1.2 is released.

  • In Vuo 1.2, we gave the Make Gradient Noise node new Scaled Start/End ports. Since these ports didn't exist in Vuo 1.1, they're ignored when running in VDMX. A workaround is to avoid using those ports and instead connect the output of Make Gradient Noise to a Scale node (after right-clicking on its Value port and going to "Revert to Generic Data Type").
  • In Vuo 1.2, we changed the default image wrap mode from "None" to "Clamp Edge". This affects how your 1x1 Specular Image input in Shade with Details is spread across the main Image. In Vuo 1.1, the Specular Image gets blended with empty space, so the specularity ends up pretty low. The behavior in Vuo 1.2 is probably more what you intended.
