I don't think this has much to do with color spaces, rather color selection. The color in photoshop have a K(N) value of 0, which when using CMYK in VUO will render a fully saturated and bright color. It seems like Photoshop derives the grey value for the top 3rd of the spectrum from the amount of CMY, then starts exponentially adding K(N) from that point until reaching K(N) = 80 to 90 at the bottom (totally black). You can either adjust the black level manually (which probably won't produce the same color):

Or use a Make Hex Color node to get the desired result:

I may be misunderstanding how to use the Find Subtrees using XPath node. I've created an expression that I thought would allow me to find value code and it's sibling values fullname and school but it isn't working like I thought it would.

The way I want it to work is to search by the program code and return with the fullname and school values that are it's siblings.

Jérôme Lanon posted a new Bug Report, “Personal node disappear

Personal node disappear

Status:

Vuo version:

Fixed in Vuo version:

OS version:

  • OS X 10.11

How severely does this bug affect you?:

●●○○ — It's annoying but I can work around it.

Steps causing the bug to occur:

  1. When I create a new node, my name (with space & accent) is in the beginning of the node's name
  2. The accents seems to be a problem
  3. Randomly, after some times and Vuo relaunch, the nodes disappears
  4. I don't know how to change my name into Vuo

Have you found a workaround?:

Reopen the nodes files, and re-save them into nodes... The problem seems to be resolved in the 1.2.6 alpha1 version (cf. screenshot), but I must re-save all my personal nodes

I'm having a level beginner question about XML trees. I'm trying to get the Artist Name, Song Title and File Location for the iTunes songs from the iTunes Library XML.

I'm able to somehow locate the subtree of a song, but then I can't find how to locate the Name or Title because they all start with subtree "Key" as name, then have "Name" or 'Title" as content, but the title or name itself is yet another subtree with name "String", all the same again on the same line.

Should I be using Split Text from here on ? Can't I do this because the way the XML is written or because of the node not considering the same line as a subcontent ? Thanks

Joining the composition, it assumes your iTunes Library is in -/Music/

I'll have some time over the next week (after election campaigning on Climate action) to check it out. I have a few interesting datasets I've been wanting to get into Vuo. I tend to use CSV out of spreadsheets but it's easy enough to use GREP to XMLify them.

Bodysoulspirit posted a new Feature Request, “Scrollable Port Popups

Scrollable Port Popups

Often I use the port popup (click one port) to get information, for example a path or some text etc.

Problem is the preview often is too short and I end up using a Console Window :(

Could it not just be but scrollable ? Like preview 3 lines instead of one and scroll the rest if more ?

For example here below if the url was way larger I could horizontal scroll it, if it had several lines (tree) I could vertical scroll it :

I know there are also these yellow notepad like popups that sometimes come up (haven't understand when they do and when they not) and that display more info already, which is great, but a longer one could still require scroll.

Plus A - I think the port popup looks better then the yellow pad and B - we have port popups + yellow popups = 2 popups. And C - The port popups can be floated which can be great too sometimes.

Of course I assume popovers are rendered only when opened so I guess that would not affect the editor performance.

Great!!! I'll try it out as soon as I can! I'll try and set some time aside tomorrow to do that. I'm away next week so I'll really try and squeeze it in. This is amazing!

@Pianomatic, we just published a Vuo 1.2.6 alpha release that includes a fix for this bug. Despite it being an alpha release, the changes are few and isolated enough that — other than the new nodes added in the release — I would consider it safe to use in production.
